Hi everyone, it's Oxem And today we meet for a brand new video of the MMORPG extension. Welcome everyone, I hope you're well. If you like this video, don't hesitate to subscribe, it will help me a lot. So today I'm gonna introduce you to Rend. That's pronounced Rent.
A survival MMORPG which will normally be released in 2018. Let us not kid ourselves, we can wait for it for 2019 considering a little the state of the place especially at the level of the camera and some animations, we see that the game isn't finished He's basically in an early access stage, alpha... We'll have to be patient and wait. The first time I got interested in Rend, I wasn't very excited. "A survival MMORPG" "What does that mean https://pbbgwarp.com/when-all-else-fails-gamble/? What is that thing? " And the more I became interested in the subject the more ambitious and daring it became to me. And frankly, I'm looking forward it! So I'll introduce you to this, let's go! If I had to define Rend, I'd say it's a mix between WOW and Rust, a survival game on steam, I don't know if you know it. So we have this aspect of the long term MMORPG, character customization, talent tree, classes, skills, instances so with classic PvE and bosses... But at the same time wild PvP, and fortress assault. A bit like Guild Wars 2 where there's kingdom versus kingdom. We really have this aspect of the MMORPG once again they are former employees of blizzard so they may have worked on WOW. But we really have this long term aspect combined with a fast gameplay aspect, I almost want to say battle royale. It's very ambitious for me and it can be a heavy game. It can be very, very heavy, if they can get their projects off the ground. It's the hybrid between a long term experience and a short experience with skirmishes, with fast fortress assaults, which can lead to a destruction of the server, downright. I'm just saying this because it can be a little confusing. To go into futher detail you'll create your character, and you will choose between one of the 3 factions : the order, the conclave or the undead. Once you have chosen that faction you are necessarily enemy with the other two. So this kind of martial trinity is very important You're going to be in constant competition with the other factions And you'll be able to monitor their progress by looking at the tree the giant tree we see in the video where there's a gauge on it a bit futuristic, a bit magical, with the little rune You'll monitor this gauge remotely it indicates the progress of each faction in the race to fervor In French I'd say it like that By collecting resources, making things, improving your base By fighting the members of the opposing faction, by killing monsters in pve You'll gain fervor and offer it to your god, the divinity of your faction It'll improve your gauge. Once you reach the maximum of this gauge, you win, bluntly. It will resets the server and you will create a new character You should know that there is a notion of meta progression Everything I explain to you isn't obvious but The meta progression is the progression out of the game That's, when you finish a game Fortunately you'll win something Otherwise you'd start a character every time and it'd be boring. For example, the meta progression in fortnite is the cosmetic It's your little glider, it's your little emote There's a meta progression outside the game, you understand? They specified that this meta progression will be cosmetic But also in the shape of unlockable options for your progress for example a new class or a new talent tree, we do not know it's not specified There's a lot to say about rend, there's a lot of information. So, you have this three faction system with a victory race How will this be presented in concrete terms? You'll be able to improve the base, because each faction has a base, you saw it in the video in the background You'll be able to improve this base by crafting, as in Albion. Each will have his role there will be some who will go hunting to bring back leather, tusks, therefore components the other will go to fetch stones and everything. So all your combined efforts will contribute to the improvement of each of your characters, because between you will lend you components, or craft components, craft weapons and armor for each of you. So your faction will grow and your base will grow and become more and more powerful. We have the Reconning, it'll be an event that will appear every month for a week if I don't say anything stupid. So during this week it will be full war, because in the normal period you can't attack the enemy base. During the Reconning precisely, it'll be open war. We'll have to attack the enemy fortress and attempt to destroy their Nod, if we can call it their kind of nexus, it's the tree They called it divinity stones, but it's a kind of Nexus and if you destroy it, the faction is permanently eliminated from the game. Very important thing to note At each end of reconning it'll be necessary to review the strategy, if it wasn't terrible Improving defences, rebuilding...

Every religion, every worldview is telling a Story. They're trying to take the things we know about the world and fit them together into a big picture. These religions can't all be right, of course, because each story is different from the others. And most stories religions or philosophies tell simply don't make sense of Reality.
The pieces of their puzzles just don't fit the real world. One story, however, stands out from all the rest. In the Christian Story, all the puzzle pieces fit together. Perfectly. And they fit the way the world actually is. Perfectly. This is just another way of saying the Story is true. Really true. True in the deep sense. True in the way gravity is true. Five words describe the plot of the true Story of reality. They tell the most important things that happen in the order they take place. God is first in the Story since He's the main character. He's the one the Story's all about, the King who rules His Kingdom... The Father who loves His children. The world He created was just right, filled with goodness and purpose. God made man to share a wonderful friendship with Him. We are not gods, of course, but we are like God in a very special way. Deep inside each of us is a mark – the very image of God Himself – giving every human absolute value, deep worth, and ultimate significance. That's why every single human being is beautiful. But there's something else. God created us with freedom, which is a good thing. But freedom means there's a choice. If choosing good is a possibility, then so is choosing evil. And that's what happened. Though humans are still beautiful, we are now also broken because we have betrayed our friendship with God. We have rebelled against our King. This rebellion plunged man into darkness, despair, slavery, and death. And that would have been the tragic end to our Story, if it wasn't for an amazing plot twist...God had a rescue plan! He would come to our rescue. He entered human history as Jesus. Jesus was God Himself, but He was also a man just like us. Unlike us, though, He obeyed the Father in everything, yet He was sentenced to death and brutally executed on a cross. Then, three days later, He defeated death and decay and came to life again. Why did the innocent One die for a crime He didn't commit? He died to pay the Father for crimes we committed. He died to make a trade, His innocence for our guilt, His perfect life for our broken lives. The decision we make about this trade – whether we receive this gift or reject it – will determine what happens to each of us at the very end of the Story, at the final resurrection. Those who remain in rebellion will be banished from God's presence forever, experiencing only loneliness, misery, and ruin. Those who receive the gift of God's mercy will live in a wonderful new world with Him, knowing the kind of life our hearts have always yearned for. We will be His, and He will be ours – forever. If you're a Christian, then this is your story. If you're not a Christian, this is still your story. Because this Story is not a myth created by ancient people to give a sense of meaning to life. No. The things the Story describes actually exist and the events in the story really happened. It's not fiction, it's history. It's the true Story. It's the story...of Reality. Today, you are not reacting to a video. Oh, man. (Finebros) You are reacting to this. Um...excuse me?
It looks like a robot arm. Is it gonna electrocute me? It looks really dope. What can I control with this? Is this old or is this new? This is either a really new piece of technology or a really old piece of technology. Oooooh! I watch Angry Video Game Nerd and I totally saw his review and he was just like, "This sucks!" What would be your guess as to what this is? Like you move your hand and it moves something... somewhere else? It's a game control 'cause of the D Pad. I'm assuming you control things with your hands, like in the game. It's a video game glove. It was like the first Wii. (Finebros) So what it is is it's called the Power Glove. - It was made in 1989-- - No way. I haven't heard about this and this has been out for so long. I've never even seen one of these. (Finebros) It was an accessory to play video games on the original Nintendo. The concept was you don't need a controller. You can play with your hand. And we're not using these today? Why? This would be awesome. How come I've never heard of this? So this is like the Wii before the Wii. If you paired this with the Oculus Rift, this is Next Gen. This is like the future right here! The past/future! (Finebros) Okay, so we're going to hook things up and let you - play a game using the Power Glove. - Really? Yes! Are you guys gonna explain it to me? (Finebros) The way it worked is you'd have to hook up sensors to your TV, which we've done here, and it would use ultrasonic sound waves to connect to the Power Glove. Like a Wii sensor, but older? Wow, that's huge! Now it's like the Xbox Kinect is, like, this big. (Finebros) But it had some issues, including it being difficult to set up with what it came with, so even we had to tape it down - to keep it in place. - The struggle! (Finebros) Okay, so go ahead and put on the Power Glove. Is my arm supposed to go through there? I feel like such a dork. It kinda feels tefillin. So if you had this, were you the coolest kid in the world? I can feel the energy flowing through my veins. I feel powerful. That's where the name "Power Glove" comes from. (Finebros) So you are going to play a game made specifically for the Power Glove called Bad Street Brawler. Then once it's registered, lifting your hand up jumps, lowering your hand ducks, thumb and index finger punch. Oh, so it's not even as cool as I thought it would be. So all I have to do is this for fighting? So I'm gonna be pinching people, basically. Why is this punch? I wanna, like, bah! Bah! What?! What am I doing? Whoa...this is, like, an old version of Grand Theft Auto. Okay, jump. Duck. Wha ta! Hoo! Uh, I don't know what I'm doing. How do I turn around? Turn around! Oh, god. No, no, no! Okay, okay. Am I fighting dogs? Punch the dog! I'm sorry, puppy! There we go! Get it! Get it! Get it! Yes! I'm not even moving my fingers and it's punching. I'm just kinda flailing my fingers around and hoping I do something. So can I actually play this game or do I just end up doing this for 45 minutes? My arm is getting tired. Go! Go! Go! Punch, punch. What am I doing? Jump! Jump! No, not jumping. Duck! Duck! It's not ducking. Just start waving it around. (laughing) This is frustrating. Aw, this is horrendous. Jesus. I know why I've never heard of this-- because it's so bad. (groaning) Why do people play this? - Oh. I'm dead. Turn around! Turn around! - (sighs) Damn. This was pretty much useless. I feel like I'm getting an arm workout. This is tiring. It looks pretty sweet, but it doesn't do what you want it to do. (Finebros) Okay, so they made games for it, but you could also play any Nintendo game with the Power Glove by programming in the proper code. So now, with the Power Glove, we're gonna have you play Punch Out. Oh, yes! Okay, so do I get to actually punch? Oh, guys! Glass Joe's gonna get up there and I'm gonna do horribly. I feel like it's gonna punch... but I feel like it's not gonna work. Is it working? Eh! Eh! Wait, what? I can't make it punch! Oh, am I doing it? Yeah! Wait, [bleep]! This is fun. Yeah, take that. Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! He's getting wrecked! Go, Power Glove on! Yes, Power Glove punch. I'm just, like, moving my fingers and not even know what I'm doing. Oh my god...I'm getting tired. (huffing) I'm so tired. Ah, my arm. I have to hold it up with this arm. This is [bleep]. I can't even use my jab. Dude, stop! What are you doing? Oh, wait, I have to duck? How do I duck? Come ooooooooon! Punch him! Punch him! Punch him! Punch him! God! - (knock out sound effect) - I won! Wait, he gets up again? Oh no... No, no, no, no! - (knock out sound effect) - Oh. How do I get up? Do I shake it? (rattling) Neeeh! - (bell rings) - Oh, that is so annoying. How do I get up? How do I get up? (in game: spectators roar) (giggling) Hey, man, that's why they're there. (through teeth) Like, come on! - (knock out sound effects) - Ooooooh! Seven, eight, nine, ten! Aaaaaaaaaah! Power Glove! Power Glove! Power Glove. I'm kind of disappointed. It would sometimes no down punching. But half the time, he was just standing there. I feel like this was the beginning to something bigger and better. Which, I mean, we've accomplished now. (Finebros) Well, with some games, there were very specific ways to get the controls to work, so here we printed out how to do things for Punch Out on the Power Glove, which you could find in the top right. Oh, goodness. You have to memorize all of this? This is so ridiculous. "Bend three last fingers...clockwise." What?! "When you master this program, you will be able to do things in one move that normally take two key--" I only press two buttons instead of doing all this [bleep]? What do you mean? (Finebros) So when the Power Glove came out, it was a very big deal. Now that you've used it, would you actually say this is a good way to game? No! Absolutely not. It's so difficult to know what to do. It hurts your arm. If it was refined, as a Next Gen thing, I think it would work. I think it would be awesome, but in reality it's a disappointment. (Finebros) Well, the Power Glove was a complete commercial failure - because it didn't work. - (laughs) Such a sad thing. I think it was a cool, creative attempt, but it just didn't work. I would get so mad. All this hype for this new thing and it just doesn't work. I probably would have bought it and returned it or something. I would've been pissed off. I remember when the Wii came out, and I remember everyone wanted one. I could only imagine parents being so hesitant to buy their kids Wiis because of this thing. (Finebros) You have to remember that in 1989 nothing like this was ever even around and it was a huge, cool idea. What do you think now, seeing one of the first uses of technology like this with how far everything has come? I think it's really cool. They predicted the future. The technology that they had back then wasn't good enough to make it that efficient like they have today. We think all these Next Gen things are so revolutionary, but then you look back and it's like... we were almost there. I'm honored to be in the presence of this. This is what started all the new technology of gaming. (Finebros) So, finally, now that you've used the Power Glove first hand, we're going to show you a commercial of how they marketed the Power Glove when it first came out. I bet they got everyone hyped up on it too. (boxing bell rings) (chuckling) (announcer) The Power Glove for your Nintendo Entertainment System. Now you and the games are one. "You and the games are one." That looks dope as hell. I'm not gonna lie. What?! It's on a big screen too-- like, no one has that at home back then. It's not that simple. No, it doesn't work like that. (announcer) The Power Glove. Everything else is child's play. Oh, man. See, that looked like a fun time. Where's that Power Glove? If I was a kid in 1989, I'd be like, "I need that." If I saw that, I would be like, "Oh my gosh, mom! We're going right now!" This is the beauty of advertising. Now I wanna try this again. Thanks for watching Teens React. Want to see us play more games with the Power Glove? Go subscribe to the React Channel. Let us know in the comments what technology we should react to next. All right, guys, this is it. I'm turning 20 and this is the last Teens React episode I'll be in and, um... (voice breaking) I'm sorry. (Finebros) It's okay. I just wanna say thank you so much for all the support for the past two years. You guys are the greatest fans. Thank you so much for everything. Hey guys, what's up? Comment below what you would get. BYE Ok guys see ya later Tell us a little about your book. Infinite Sacrifice is a reincarnation fantasy about an old woman named Maya who is shocked to discover it’s not the heaven she imagined; in fact, a life of adventure begins the moment she dies. Zachariah, her faithful spirit guide, explains the rules of the dead: in order to regain complete awareness and reunite with loved ones all souls must review their previous lives. Maya plunges warily into her turbulent pasts as a sociopathic High Priest in ancient Egypt; an independent mother protecting a dangerous secret in glorious Sparta; an Irish boy kidnapped and enslaved by Vikings; and a doctor’s wife forced to make an ethical stand in plague-ridden England. What inspired you to write this book? The premise of reincarnation fascinates me since it may explain my attachment and captivation for certain countries or eras in time. I’m a lover of history and, short of having a time machine, this is one way I can experience these historic times. In addition, through the unique reincarnation fantasy genre, I can carry the same cast of characters over many time periods, evolving them drastically and pushing the normal character arch to its limits. What are you doing to market your book? I’ve decided to take a break from promoting in order to get more writing done. I’ve read some fantastic posts from authors who have made the first book in their series free for a prolonged time in hopes of broadening their readership and hooking them on their series. How have sales been? Where have you had the most success? Sales have been slow but steady. Honestly, I didn’t spend too much time (or money) on marketing since I worked on releasing the second book a few months after the first. I’ve heard from many authors that the best thing for sales is more books, and that is what I’m focusing on. This is my second job so I can play this race slow and steady. How are readers/reviewers reacting to your book?
So far, Infinite Sacrifice has been well received. I’m still bracing myself for my first 3-star or less review but I know that even the best novels receive them in good time. I’m hoping this extended free promotion will harvest more reviews. If you decide to pick up a free copy, please leave me a short review. I savor them! What was the biggest challenge you faced writing this book and how did you overcome it? I worried about releasing my book to the public and getting negative feedback for something I’ve put so much time in. Therefore, I decided to undertake a grueling workshop where amazing writers took my book apart! I fixed the things I could and came out with a much thicker skin. Now, I see criticisms in a helpful light. My reader’s feedback (positive and negative) will help me grow as a writer and I welcome them all! What are the future plans for you and this book? The Infinite Series is a quadrology. I’m hoping to get book 3 out in 2013. What is your next project? I wrote 2/3’s of the next book, Infinite Loss. Right now, I’m in the researching phase (so tedious!) for the last third, and procrastinating with a new YA novel. Have you published anything else? In February, I released book 2 of the Infinite Series, Infinite Devotion. Any advice for other writers/indie authors out there? Save up your money to get the best cover, editor, proofreader, and formatter you can afford. Your novel should be as professional as possible to gain the attention and reviews all your hard work deserves. Thank you for reading this interview! I hope you liked it and found it interesting. I am planning on making more interviews in the future, so let me know in the comment section below if you like these and want me to continue. Thank you one more time and see you soon in my next post! Tell us a little about your book. Imagine the cinematic masterpiece Vertigo re-told by its tragic heroine: Judy Barton may be the most-watched and least understood woman in movie history. Generations of viewers think Scottie Ferguson tells us all we need to know about her when he sputters ,”You were his girl!” at the film’s climax. But what if the woman we’ve come to sympathize with is neither Gavin Elster’s mistress, nor a willing accessory to murder? The Testament of Judith Barton tells Judy’s behind-the-scenes side of the story in her own voice. Like Wicked for The Wizard of Oz, it reveals the secret history of a classic film from a mysterious woman’s point of view. Vertigo, with its critical reputation and frequent re-releases, has delighted and disturbed generations of film fans; with its dizzying mix of movie, memoir, and murder, The Testament of Judith Barton will enthrall film and fiction fans alike. What inspired you to write this book? One night we were watching Vertigo again, when Robin paused the film to say, “I think Judy’s the most complex character here- her back story would have to be really interesting. What’s her motivation? Why would she participate in Elster’s plot?” Wendy replied, “A novelist could take care of that, create a biography that foreshadows and explains her behaviour-” By now we were staring at each other – we had to tell Judy’s story. What are you doing to market your book? We’re reaching out to movie bloggers and film academics, and people who know how to write essay, asking them to consider reading and reviewing the novel. What was the biggest challenge you faced writing this book and how did you overcome it? Writing it together! Wendy spews out the rough draft, Robin edits, and then we have to agree on all changes, down to a comma versus semicolon. It’s a testament to our relationship that we’re still married – though neither one of us is jumping at the chance to write another novel together, as it was a painful process. What are the future plans for you and this book? Wendy would like to see her other manuscripts published, and has outlines for a couple more novels of her own; together, we have ideas for a couple novels as well. What is your next project? We’re developing a time-shifting gothic novel about a photographer and a painter, but it’s still in development, as we say. Right now we’re plenty busy marketing Judith Barton. Have you published anything else? Wendy has four other manuscripts completed, which we’re considering releasing soon. • Unknown Among Men, a literary quest mystery set in Dublin and on board the Orient Express • An Heiress of But Small Fortune, a historical fiction set in England’s Pottery District • Looking Oppositely, a historical fiction set in Devon • A Failed Mansion, a tale of real estate corruption set in contemporary San Francisco Any advice for other writers/indie authors out there? Wendy: Quantity, not quality! Truly, so many people say they want to write a novel but never get a single sentence down. During the rough draft stage, just get out a lot of words! Which isn’t to say quality doesn’t matter – that’s where revision comes in. Robin: Never edit in your head. Word processing makes it dead easy to disappear those embarrassing early drafts. Just get something on the page – make it perfect later. |
